A little life update...

Hello loves, how are you? Now my heartrate has settled and my head has stopped spinning, I wanted to take a moment to say another but much bigger thank you to everyone who has been in touch both online and IRL since my darling boy was rushed into critical care.

To say the last few weeks have been the most stressful and traumatic of my life would be no exaggeration, but the brilliant news is that progress is being made and life is slowly settling down again. The outpouring of love, kindness and healing directed towards us both has been hugely appreciated and made me feel less alone in the lowest moments. Thank you.

So, what am I up to now? Taking life as slowly as I can for a few days is the short answer, but I've got the Falling for You paperback publication day and blog tour to plan for, an October first draft deadline (which I'll soon be ready for) to meet and a couple of events in the diary.

I might be pacing myself for a while but I'm very excited about all of these things! The first event is happening in just 3 weeks on October 8th and it's a FREE one!

If you'd like to come along - and I'd love to see you - all you need to do is either email hello@kettsbooks.co.uk or call 01953 603663 to reserve a space. Believe it or not, this will be my first in person event of the year so I'm buzzing about it!

The second one in the diary is booked for next May and I know it's early to share but I also know how fast time can fly, so...

The brochure and tickets for this one aren't available just yet, but I wanted to give you a heads up in case you wanted to get the date in your diary. West Acre Theatre is a beautiful venue in a stunning setting, so this will be a very special gathering!

As well as getting back into work mode I am of course, getting ready to celebrate the onset of autumn. I'll be putting up my autumn decs this weekend (enough to rival both Clemmie from All Wrapped Up and Rafe from Falling for You).

I'll also be taking long walks around my local woods and enjoying warming cacao, Reiki and meditation. I've got a couple of loose ends to tie up before the daylight shortens much more and after that, I'll be getting ready to hunker down for winter.

Do you tune into the seasons? Previously I've been a power through kind of person, but not now. I love to lean into the changing energy and feel so much better for it. Do let me know if you do this or if it's something you're going to try. I'd love to share experiences.

So, my loves, that's it for now. I'd better head back to the summer 27 story or I won't be hitting that deadline. My publishing team and agent have been telling me not to worry about any of it, but returning to ......... is so comforting, I can't bear to leave it for long!

Wishing you all a wonderful week and thank you again for your kindness and support.

With love,

Heidi x

Hi, I am so glad your son is getting better, one day at a time.

Re the seasons I never used to stop and notice anything apart for wondering is it boot or shoe weather. But after 37 years nursing, 28 of which was providing palliative and end of life care in the community, I retired. Now I look to the seasons, the changes, the wildlife and live my life enjoying the seasons.

I also started following the wheel of the year, which in itself is fascinating. I write two journals, one of my thoughts etc and the other based on the seasons and my observations.

Thank you for your books and the characters who are like…
